Hi, I’m Birk. I’m a board member and a frequent contributor in MapLibre. I focus on getting
the long-term decisions right, and on areas that are always of interest to us, such as higher
performance, modernizing our stack, making workflows more intuitive and fostering collaboration
amongst people and teams in the open ecosystem.
The world is changing so fast, and I believe MapLibre has this unique position as an open
ecosystem to support high-quality geospatial visualizations across sciences, politics, tech and arts.
I think it’s more important that ever to support this effort.

Isaac Besora has joined MapLibre as Graphics Engineer. His initial focus will be improvements in MapLibre GL JS in particular in the areas of Terrain 3D and the new Globe feature.

With a yearly donation of USD $10,000, Mappedin supports the maintenance of MapLibre’s codebases and ensures a stable future for the project.
This release is a big step for MapLibre GL JS! With more than 500 commits, and almost a year in the making, version 3.0.0 is surely our best release yet.
