I’m Sargun Vohra and I’d happy to be serving on the governing board.
First, the disclosures: my employer is @headway but Headway has nothing to do with my work on MapLibre; I contribute in my spare time. I have never been paid for work on MapLibre, though there is a small portion of a StreetComplete grant allocated to some work I’m doing.
My involvement with MapLibre has largely been as a contributor and maintainer of hosted projects; I started in 2024 with MapLibre Compose, which was onboarded onto the organization in 2025, and then this year I built MapLibre Native FFI, an experimental C API and suite of language bindings intended to make development of MapLibre Native SDKs and integrations easier. I’ve also started contributing to the native core, recently porting the core to OpenHarmony and HarmonyOS, and I’m co-maintainer of Spatial-K after it was onboarded to the org.
My vision for MapLibre boils down to:
Happy New Year, MapLibre Community! We are thrilled to share big updates for MapLibre Native (including Vulkan support), the official launch of MapLibre GL JS Version 5.0, new features in Martin Tile Server, and more. In January we will hold a MapLibre Eastern Call again to better connect with contributors…
