Our project depends on people who contribute code, documentation, ideas, and ecosystem integrations. These contributions are what move MapLibre forward.
Rather than offering transactional rewards for individual tasks, MapLibre focuses on recognizing sustained, high-quality contributions across the project.
Contributors who make meaningful impact - whether through features, bug fixes, documentation, or community work - are regularly recognized by the project. This includes quarterly recognition and, where possible, financial rewards tied to overall impact rather than individual issues.
This approach allows us to support the long-term health of the project while fairly acknowledging the people who continuously improve it.
Strong contributors often become closely involved in shaping the direction of MapLibre over time.
