Results are in for the 2026 MapLibre Governing Board election, and we’re excited to share them alongside a warm welcome to our newest Voting Members. A big thanks to everyone who were part of the election process this year!
Five members have been elected to serve on the 2026 MapLibre Governing Board:
🎉 Congratulations to all the five elected members. We’re looking forward to another year of strong leadership from this group.
💐 We’d also like to recognize Zarichnyi Yaroslav and Malcolm Toon, who both ran for the board this year and remain active, valued members of the community.
🙏 And a heartfelt thanks to Frank Elsinga, Stephanie May, Haowen You, and Birk Skyum for their time on the outgoing board. The work they put in over the past year has left MapLibre stronger for it.

Ahead of this year’s board election, we ran a voting members nomination round. Voting Members are the ones who elect the Governing Board and vote on any changes to the MapLibre Charter.
That process brought in 31 new Voting Members this August, and we’re glad to have them on board as MapLibre keeps growing. The complete list of voting members, now 172 members strong, is available in our GitHub documentation.
Thank you again to every candidate, Voting Member, and community member who made this year’s election possible.
